Mersin Youth Camps

Green City

Mersin Youth Camps are outdoor education and activity programs supported by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, designed to provide young people and children with opportunities for adventure, learning, social engagement, and personal development in nature. These camps take place in scenic natural settings, such as Tarsus Youth Camp, where participants, including children and families from across the city, can engage in structured activities that promote physical health, environmental awareness, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Tarsus Youth Camp, one of the key venues for these initiatives, operates year-round and is managed under the Municipality’s Women and Family Services Department. It offers a variety of programs that blend outdoor recreation with educational experiences. During the Children’s Summer Camp, for example, participants enjoy activities such as canoeing, nature walks, environment and plant learning, and a “Survivor” obstacle course. Camps typically include overnight stays, campfires, group games, and guided interactions that help young people build friendships and confidence.

The Municipality also organizes Parent-Child Camp activities at the same site, where families spend time together in nature, take part in traditional games, skill-building activities, and create memorable experiences away from the city environment. These programs are designed to foster family bonds, nature appreciation, and intergenerational participation in outdoor life, as well as to support the wellbeing of both children and adults.

Across all Youth Camp programs, participants benefit from structured guidance by trained staff and municipal teams, ensuring both safety and enriching experiences. Activities are tailored to different age groups and interests, providing a balance of physical challenge, creative exploration, environmental education, and leisure.

Mersin Youth Camps reflect Mersin Metropolitan Municipality’s commitment to youth development, outdoor education, and community wellbeing. By offering accessible nature-based programs for young residents and families, the Municipality promotes healthier lifestyles, stronger social connections, and a deeper appreciation for the city’s natural landscapes.
