Teksin is a comprehensive citizen-oriented mobile application and communication platform developed by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality as part of its “Mersin Tek Noktadan Çözüm Merkezi (Single Point Solution Center)” strategy. Launched in mid-2020, the app brings municipal services, information, and communication channels together in one accessible digital space, allowing residents to interact with the Municipality more easily and efficiently.
Teksin serves as both a communication hub and a smart city tool that enables citizens to report requests, complaints, and suggestions directly to municipal teams, as well as access a wide range of services and information with just a few taps on their smartphones. With the app installed, users can view service announcements, municipal news, bus routes and schedules, city guides, event details, and even MESKİ (water and sewerage) account information and bill payment options.
What makes Teksin especially valuable is its role as a 24/7 communication bridge between residents and the Municipality. Through its integration with the Alo 185 call center and WhatsApp contact, citizens can submit and track their service requests and municipal feedback around the clock. Teksin’s system routes these submissions to the appropriate municipal departments and enables users to follow response progress directly through the app or via SMS updates.
Teksin has also evolved beyond a basic reporting platform. It has become a key data and urban analysis source for the Municipality, helping identify service areas, prioritize municipal responses, and even inform strategic planning by tracking trends in citizen input. As of 2025, the system had handled over 1.25 million calls in a single year and contributed to more than 5 million overall citizen interactions since its inception, reflecting its deep integration into daily civic life in Mersin.
Beyond service requests and municipal information, Teksin continues to expand its capabilities. The platform has included special modules like “Teksin Genç” to provide young residents with tailored content, opportunities, and event notifications.
Since its launch, Teksin has become a cornerstone of Mersin’s smart city approach, helping to make municipal services more transparent, responsive, and accessible for all residents. By putting essential civic tools and communication channels directly into citizens’ pockets, the app strengthens public engagement, improves service delivery, and enhances the connection between the community and local government.
